Fastest route. Email hello@maîtrise.net with the subject “Data deletion request.” Do not send your password, access token, payment-card information or unrelated customer records.
1. Who can request deletion
You may submit a request if you are:
- a person who sent or received WhatsApp messages handled by Maîtrise for a business;
- a business owner or authorized staff member of a business that uses Maîtrise;
- a Facebook, Meta or WhatsApp user whose information reached Maîtrise through the Maîtrise app or a connection you approved;
- a business that Maîtrise researched or contacted about its services; or
- a website visitor or anyone who contacted Maîtrise directly.
A customer may also send the request to the business whose customer-care program sent the message. Where that business is responsible for the customer relationship, Maîtrise may coordinate with it before completing the request.
2. Only want the messages to stop?
Reply in the WhatsApp conversation that you want to stop. Maîtrise records the opt-out straight away and stops the relevant messages. Stopping messages is not the same as deleting data; send a deletion request if you also want your data removed.
3. Facebook, Meta and WhatsApp data
To remove Maîtrise’s access to your Facebook or Meta account, open your Facebook settings, go to Business Integrations (or your Meta Business settings), select Maîtrise and remove it. Removing access stops new data from reaching Maîtrise, but does not by itself delete what Maîtrise already holds.
To delete that data, email us with the subject “Meta data deletion request” and include the Facebook name, phone number or email connected to the interaction and the relevant business name. Maîtrise will delete the data it holds and tell you where information is controlled only by Meta or WhatsApp, which you can manage in their settings.
4. What to include
Send only enough information to find and verify the record:
- Your name.
- The phone number or email address connected to the request.
- The name of the relevant business, if Maîtrise contacted you on its behalf.
- Whether you want all data deleted or only a specific conversation, file or account.
- For a business request, your role and the business name.
You may write in English or Arabic. A request can also be sent on WhatsApp to +961 81 954 136 , but email is preferred for a complete record.
5. Verification
We verify requests proportionately so that no one can delete another person’s or business’s data. We may ask you to reply from the relevant phone number or email, confirm the business relationship or give limited additional information. We will never ask for your password or access token.
6. What happens after verification
- We locate the relevant workspace, customer record, conversations, files and account data.
- We stop active use and messaging connected to the request.
- We notify the responsible business where coordination is needed.
- We delete or irreversibly anonymize eligible data from active systems, and invalidate any related access tokens.
- We record completion and confirm to you.
We normally acknowledge a complete request within seven calendar days and complete eligible deletion within 30 days of verification. If a request is complex or subject to a legal hold, we will explain the status and expected timing.
Backups may keep deleted data until they expire on their normal cycle. Data in a backup is not restored for ordinary use and remains protected until it expires.
7. Information that may be kept
Deletion is not absolute where limited retention is necessary or legally required. We may keep:
- invoice, payment, tax and accounting records;
- security, fraud-prevention and dispute records;
- records needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, including records of acceptance of our Terms;
- a minimal opt-out record so you are not contacted again; and
- information already irreversibly aggregated or anonymized.
Kept information is limited to its purpose and never used for customer care or marketing.
8. Questions or unresolved requests
If you believe a request was not handled correctly, reply to the confirmation with the reason and any missing scope, and we will review it again. You may also contact the competent authority or seek independent advice about your rights.
