Confidentiality Commitment

This commitment explains how Maîtrise protects the information a business entrusts to it, and what the business must protect in return. It forms part of the Terms & Conditions.

Core rule. Maîtrise does not sell a business’s customer list, show it to another business or use it to build a shared cross-business customer profile. This commitment applies from the moment a business connects to Maîtrise through Facebook / Meta or otherwise accepts the Terms.

1. Information covered

A business’s confidential information is non-public information received from it, or created specifically for it, including:

  • customer names, phone numbers, lists, imports, events, conversation history and voice notes;
  • orders, service details, complaints, satisfaction feedback, internal issues and reports;
  • business rules, hours, prices, product files, procedures and customer-care instructions;
  • owner and staff details, designated roles, workspace data, credentials, tokens and security information;
  • unpublished proposals, promotions, invoices, payment information, plans and commercial discussions.

2. Permitted use

Maîtrise uses a business’s confidential information only to configure, deliver, secure, support, account for and improve the service for that business; to follow its documented instructions; or to meet a legal obligation. Maîtrise does not market its own services to that business’s customers or reuse their identities for another client.

Aggregated or de-identified operational learning may be used to improve general processes only when it cannot reasonably identify the business, its customers or its confidential activity.

3. Business separation

Customer records, conversations, events, files, invoices and reports are kept within each business’s own workspace. The same phone number may appear in more than one business relationship without those histories being merged. If it is unclear which business a conversation belongs to, the action is blocked or reviewed until the correct business is established.

4. Access by people and providers

Only authorized Maîtrise personnel who need it to run, support, troubleshoot or secure the service can access a business’s information, and they are bound by confidentiality. Service providers for hosting, databases, automated message processing, transcription, communications, security and WhatsApp / Meta receive only what their role needs and are bound by their service, privacy and security terms.

Credentials and technical configuration are never shown in business-owner views. Notifications sent to a business’s chosen staff numbers contain only what that person needs to act.

5. Automated processing

Automated processing may help understand messages, transcribe voice notes, prepare permitted routine replies, classify feedback and prepare reports. Identifiable customer conversations and business files are not used to train shared AI models, by Maîtrise or by its providers. Automated replies never replace the business’s decision on an order, appointment, change, refund or other commitment.

6. What the business keeps confidential

The business must keep Maîtrise’s confidential information confidential, including its software, system design, prompts and instructions, workflows, configurations, templates, dashboard, non-public pricing and commercial terms, security information and any non-public material shared during onboarding. The business may use it only to receive the service, may share it only with staff and advisers who need it and are bound by confidentiality, and may not try to extract it from the automated agent or use it to build a competing service.

7. Information not treated as confidential

Confidentiality does not cover information that the receiving party can show:

  • was public without a breach of duty;
  • was already lawfully known without a confidentiality obligation;
  • was independently developed without using the confidential information; or
  • was lawfully received from a third party entitled to disclose it.

Information may be disclosed when required by law, court order or a competent authority. Where legally permitted and practical, the other party will be notified before disclosure.

8. Protection and incidents

Maîtrise applies reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access control, encrypted credentials, separate business workspaces, audit records, opt-out rules and duplicate protection. If a confirmed incident materially affects a business’s confidential information, Maîtrise will investigate, contain it and notify the business without undue delay, with the information available at the time.

9. End of service and duration

When service ends, the business may request an export within 30 days. Maîtrise then returns, deletes or anonymizes the business’s confidential service data according to the Privacy Policy and Data Deletion instructions, except limited records required for law, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, security or preventing unwanted future messages.

These confidentiality duties continue for both parties after the relationship ends: for customer personal data, for as long as the data is held; for other confidential information, for five years after the service ends, and for trade secrets, for as long as they remain secret.

10. Relationship to other terms

This commitment forms part of the Terms & Conditions. A signed confidentiality or service agreement may add stricter requirements; if it directly conflicts with this page, the signed agreement controls for that business and scope.

11. Contact Maîtrise

Report a confidentiality concern without sending passwords, access tokens or unnecessary customer data.
